Dr Heather Maleham

General Practitioner

Dr Maleham is an experienced rural General Practitioner (GP), working in private practice in Dubbo, NSW. She is aware of the importance of mentoring the next generation of health care professionals and has been regularly involved in supervising GP registrars and medical students for over a decade. She is an accredited registrar supervisor for the RACGP, including undertaking ECT Visits, and is affiliated with The University of Sydney School of Rural Health. Heather is a practice principal and director of Dubbo Health Hub. 

Dr Maleham graduated from Griffith University (Gold Coast) in 2000, with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, completing her first class Honours in Molecular Biology in 2001. She subsequently completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at The University of Sydney, graduating in 2005. Heather's General Practice Specialty training was undertaken in Western NSW and she was awarded her Fellowship (FRACGP) in 2010. In 2019 she completed her FPS training. 

Heather has many years of experience providing care for individuals and families. She practices a whole-person approach, recognising the importance of the many personal, psychological, and contextual factors which influence a person's health. Heather's warm approachable style provides a non-judgemental, safe space to allow care which is tailored to the individual. A strong patient-doctor relationship and continuity of care are at the core of her practice.
