Children Health Checks

Dubbo Health Hub is committed to providing care to their youngest patients. Our General Practitioners and Nurse Practitioner are trained and experienced and have a special interest in children’s and adolescent medicine.

Routine childhood immunisations are provided by our Practice Nurse, in accordance with the Australian Childhood Immunisation Schedule. 

Health checks/assessments are one of the most effective ways to provide health promotion and prevention services in General Practice. Dubbo Health Hub is well placed to deliver essential preventive healthcare activities and offers a range of health checks/assessments for different ages and demographics. 

45-49 Year Old Health Checks

Health checks/assessments for everyone aged between 45 and 49 years is recommended as an opportunity to review your lifestyle, medical and family history to help prevent or reduce the risk of chronic conditions like diabetes, osteoporosis, or heart disease. Patients are eligible for this assessment once between the ages of 45 and 49 years. The health checkup and screening can include:

  • Full blood tests screening
  • Vital Measurements such as blood pressure, BMI, pulse
  • Skin check and more.

75 years and over Health Assessment

A 75-years and over Health Assessment is recommended to help provide a comprehensive picture of your health, to help prevent future problems and enjoy better health for longer. Border General Practice offers a free yearly health assessment to all patients over the age of 75 years. The comprehensive assessment will involve hearing and vision tests, blood pressure checks, questions about your nutrition/diet, and your psychological and social health. Patients are eligible for

Healthy Heart Checks

Anyone 45 years and over, or 30 years and over and if you’re Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, you should have a regular Heart Health Check with their doctor. Having a regular Health Health Check will help you better understand your heart attack or stroke risk. A Healthy Heart Check involves a 30-minute consultation and covers a discussion on health and lifestyle factors and a range of tests to check your risk factors.

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Checks

The aim of this Health Check is to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people receive primary health care matched to their needs by encouraging early detection, diagnosis and intervention for common and treatable conditions that cause morbidity and early mortality. 

This health assessment is available for all ages, and eligible patients are entitled to this assessment once every 9 months. The assessment involves a 30-minute consultation where a comprehensive health check is provided, with recommendations of a plan incorporating appropriate interventions.
